Since 1971, Hafele has been an international leader in the hardware industry. The company offers a broad range of products including furniture fittings, architectural hardware, electronic locking systems, and technical hardware. Originally founded in Nagold Germany, Hafele expanded its reach to properly serve the North American markets and proudly established Hafele America Company (HAC) located in the heart of the Triad, Archdale North Carolina. The Archdale campus houses the HAC Corporate Offices, as well as Hafele’s primary US Distribution Center.

Hafele retained Workplace Strategies to serve as Project Manager for the complete redesign of their Headquarters shell building and interior workspace.  The scope of work for this project included the design of an approximately 17,225 SF two-story addition to the existing facility including interior upfit, and renovation of approximately 25,390 SF of existing interior space.  Scope of work included a new front façade consistent with the addition, roof replacement, and new building systems.

Given plans for growth and their current space constraints, the leadership team contracted Workplace Strategies, Inc. to conduct a programming study which then lead into the development of space planning and construction documents for the hardware company. The construction totaled a little over $8 million of expansion and renovation space for their headquarters office. “The completion of this sleek, stylish facility serves as a renewal of our company’s commitment to Archdale.
