The Cabarrus Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a collaborative economic development project supporting organic regional growth. Flywheel Coworking financed the project and operates the coworking innovation center. Resident programs include the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation, the Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Small Business Center of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Over a dozen entrepreneurship service organizations contribute programmatically to support all forms of the entrepreneurial journey.
The former Cabarrus Savings Bank building is a stunning 1920s era neoclassical design in the Center of Concord’s downtown just north of Charlotte NC. Renovated under historic guidelines, this is Flywheel’s third location as it expands its geographic footprint of innovation centers throughout the Southeastern United States. The facility includes a social commons with a beverage bar modeled on a bistro theme, an event space, meeting rooms, forty private offices, and sixty open-plan coworking seats.
Flywheel curates a membership community of purpose-driven users who are committed to growing their businesses. Programs include startup acceleration and opportunities for investors to participate in early-stage deals. The space and associated amenities articulate Flywheel’s brand guidelines while respecting the history of the building and the importance of the building to the community.
